Weather by purpose or accident...
Well, this is certainly nostalgic! I've not posted here in 6 months or so. With that said, my site meter indicates that this blog is still getting hits. So, for those who are finding themselves here, even if by accident, you can find me now at http://kristynmarie.com.
Hope to see you there...

Over & Out
Just one last note to say that again, I've moved to: http://kristynmarie.wordpress.com. If you need me, that's where you can find me. I hope those who read here will keep reading now that I'm over there. Wordpress just had more to offer me right now, and after 3+ years with this blog, it's time to move on. It'll still be here, of course, but it won't be updated at all after this. Links and such will start disappearing from the sidebar, I like to keep my photobucket account nice and clean and uncluttered. I'd hate to run out of space! :P Okay, so check out my new blog, leave me a comment.
Over and out...

Changes afoot...
Okay boys and girls, I'm thinking that this blog has just used up it's time here on the net. I've started a new blog, by the same name,
here. Y'all check it out, it's brand new, and let me know what you think. Leave me a comment, and if you like you can change your links to include my new site. For those who need a reason, let this be it... I needed a fresh start.
Okay guys, signing off.

The DaVinci Code
I read Dan Brown's 'The DaVinci Code' about two year's ago. I was taken with the novel, and even more so with the earlier 'Angels & Demons.' I was terribly impressed by Dan Brown's novels, the adventures of Robert Langdon, a symbologist and Harvard professor who uses his mind and education to solve the problems at hand. While it is not at all rare to find intelligent novels, it is indeed incredibly rare to find a protagonist as intellectual as Robert Langdon. Equally, weather or not you take the religious message to heart, and I did not, 'The DaVinci Code' is unmistakably a story of a man, his wife, and their lineage. Yes, the man just happens to be Jesus.
So, when I found that Brown's best seller was going to be a film, I was excited, waiting eagerly for the movie for months. When it finally came out last Friday, Matt and I went to the 4pm showing --matinee's here in Stephenville are only $2 per person, can't beat that. The movie was beautiful, followed the book nearly to the letter, and wasn't at all difficult to follow. The acting was brilliant, the cast all star.
Pertaining to the cast, I wasn't at all pleased to find that Tom Hanks was to be Robert Langdon. What is it about Ron Howard casting Tom Hanks? Anyhow, I went into the movie a bit leary of Hanks' role, and found myself surprised. Hanks portrayed Langdon perfectly, and while I pictured Langdon a bit more handsome than Tom Hank's has ever managed to be, by the end of the film, I had no trouble seeing Robert Langdon, rather than Tom Hanks. The rest of the cast was equally spectacular. Audrey Tautou, who played Sophie, was beautiful. She's a French actress, which was appropriate given that a good portion of the film is in French, with subtitles. Paul Bettany, the guy who portrayed Chaucer in 'Knights Tale', played the albino Silas perfectly. Ian McKellen was brilliant as always, he is one fantastic actor.
On a final note I would just like to say that there are some things that should never appear on screen. The practice of Corporal Mortification, a practice observed by members of a radical right wing catholic organization, Opus Dei, is one such thing. It was utterly disturbing, as it was meant to be, and I cringed every moment. It's horrible, not something I could ever get used to, even in theory. I understand it's purpose in their order, as disturbing as it may be, yet my mind simply fails to accept that anyone actually practices this.
Okay, so I would like to recommend this film to everyone! It's beautiful, though long, and very intelligent. Go see it, you won't regret it.

Template Fixed!
Well, boys and girls, I fixed my template's Internet Explorer problems. It seems I had a random segment of rogue code littering up my template. Silly really, it was less than ten letters, two words, and it screwed everything up where IE were concerned. Funny, it worked just find in Firefox and netscape, but not IE. Stupid Microsoft. I mean, I like Windows XP as much as the next guy, but their browser is terribly touchy --and I'm not an Outlook fan either, for that matter. So, now my template should work like a charm in IE. Let me know if you have any problems.
Also, a quick note to Rachel, whom I bothered about my problems. Thanks so, so much for you time! You're awesome, I really appreciate it. :)

IE Problems
To those who use Internet Explorer, I know my blog is looking very weird right now and I'm working on fixing it, bear with me. It looks perfect in Firefox, just not IE. I have no clue what the problem is, but I'm trying to fix it... it just might take a little bit. Sorry.
